The classic ballet is synonymous with the Christmas season. Watch the story of the little girl who makes friends with a nutcracker that comes to life on Christmas Eve to help battle the evil Mouse King, all set to Tchaikovsky’s eloquent music.

 

American Dance Theatre of Long Island - Since 2000, the American Dance Theatre of Long Island has been delighting sold-out audiences with their magnificent performance of The Nutcracker. Warm your spirit this holiday season as you witness toys that come to life, a Christmas tree that grows before your eyes, flowers that dance, and snowflakes that waltz in this classic magical story. Holiday Magic At The Nutcracker Act II - Ballet Long Island’s The Nutcracker is a unique version of the ballet. They start with a narration of the story, then this program visits the enchanted " Land of Sweets" and the famous well. Known music that everyone loves and danced to by the delightful performers from Ballet Long Island. Chocolate from Spain, Coffee from Arabia, Tea from China, Candy Canes from Russia, Flutes and Flowers are some of the wonderful variations that can be seen in this program. The Sugar Plum Fairy and her Prince also perform solos and a Grand Pas De Deux. This is an enchanting holiday event for the entire family. Buy tickets. Northport Nutcracker Ballet - Posey Dance Company of Northport presents "Northport Nutcracker Ballet. Beautiful music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the story is about Clara who befriends a nutcracker that comes to life on Christmas Eve and wages a battle against the evil Mouse King. She travels through a Land of Snow and a Kingdom of Sweets! Beautiful production suitable for all ages! Meet and greet on stage after with performers. Stony Brook University’s Staller Center - Seiskaya Ballet’s Nutcracker is truly an international collaboration beginning with Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s most famous score. Sets and several costumes were designed by Poland’s Margaret Piotrowska whose highly respected work in Polish television and stage productions has garnered wide praise. Directed by founder Joseph Forbes, scenery was executed by Scenic Art Studios which has been credited with painting over 300 Broadway shows. The imaginative and unusual sculptures utilized in the Seiskaya Ballet’s production were the brainchild of creative artist Matt Targon. Choreographed by celebrated Russian-born Valia Seiskaya, this acclaimed production is imbued with bravura dancing, energy and endearing charisma. Buy tickets. John Cranford Adams Playhouse - New York Dance Theatre's 40th season of The Nutcracker is a highlight of the holidays. Guest stars Indiana Woodward and Daniel Ulbricht, principal dancers at New York City Ballet, return as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier in this family favorite ballet. CM Performing Arts Center - Ballet Long Island will be performing at CM Performing Arts Center. Audiences will once again be transported by the Sugar Plum Fairy to The Land of Sweets and enjoy this family-friendly classic, set to the music of Tchaikovsky. Tickets are on sale now for Ballet Long Island's full-length performance of The Nutcracker and The Nutcracker Act II. There will be an accompanying The Nutcracker boutique in the lobby, offering a range of related memorabilia for fans of all ages.
