SPCA: Mastic Beach Woman Charged With Nearly Starving 14 Week-Old Kitten to Death

SPCA has charged Janice Rose Mendonca of Mastic Beach, 59, with animal cruelty.

Mastic Beach, NY - November 29, 2018 - Detectives with the Suffolk County SPCA charged a Mastic Beach woman with animal cruelty on Wednesday, November 28th, 2018.
 
Janice Rose Mendonca, 59, was charged with cruelty to animals for failure to provide proper sustenance including the lack of veterinary care which nearly caused the death of Prince, her 14 week old male kitten.
 
Prince is now recuperating and will be available for adoption once he has been rehabilitated.
Mendonca will appear in First District Court in Central Islip is March 4, 2019.
