Holbrook, NY - March 21, 2018 - A Suffolk County Police sergeant, police officer and an off-duty firefighter saved an elderly woman from a house fire in Holbrook on Tuesday, March 20.
 
Suffolk County Police Fifth Precinct officers responded to a residence on Dover Court following the report of a house fire at the location at approximately 2:10 p.m. Upon arrival, Sergeant Charles Kelleher, Police Officer Krystin Reinhart along with Brendan Smith, an off-duty member of the Holtsville Fire Department, used an axe to enter the home and found 70-year-old Victoria Venturing asleep in the basement.
 
Venturing was removed from the home and refused medical attention at the scene. The fire was extinguished by members of the Holbrook and Holtsville Fire Departments. Arson Section detectives will investigate to determine the cause of the fire.
