NCPD: Hempstead Man Busted with Crack Cocaine, Illegal Firearm During Traffic Stop

Illegal firearm recovered by police during a Uniondale traffic stop.

The First Squad reports on the arrest of a Hempstead man for the Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 3:05 AM in Uniondale. 
 
According to Detectives, First Precinct Police Officers while on patrol did observe a 2000 green 4-door Honda Civic with no rear bumper and inoperable tail lights that was traveling westbound on Hempstead Turnpike. 
 
Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop near the intersection of California Avenue. 
 
During the investigation Officers recovered what is believed to be crack/cocaine from the operator of the vehicle, defendant Christopher Green, 51, of 781 Arthur Avenue and placed him under arrest without incident. Further investigation resulted in an unloaded firearm being located inside of the vehicle. 
 
Defendant Christopher Green is charged with the Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd degree and multiple Vehicle Traffic Infractions. 
 
He will be arraigned on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
