Police Respond to Fight Outside North Bellmore Bar, Arrest Man Discharging Firearm From Inside His Vehicle

NCPD reports the arrest of a North Merrick man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 12:59 am in North Bellmore.

Richard Sambade, 44, of North Merrick, was arrested after discharging a firearm from inside his vehicle at the parking lot of Ginger's Bar in North Bellmore.

North Bellmore, NY - November 14 ,2016 - The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of a North Merrick man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 12:59 am in North Bellmore.

According to police, 911 received a call for a fight in front of Ginger’s Bar 2046 North Jerusalem Road, North Bellmore.  Upon arrival, police were told by several patrons standing outside that defendant Richard Sambade, 44, of North Merrick, who was driving a Ford F150 out of the parking lot, had discharged a firearm from inside his vehicle.

First Precinct officers conducted a Vehicle Traffic stop.  Officers observed the defendant to have glassy bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.  The defendant was placed under arrest. A .38 caliber Taurus revolver was recovered inside the vehicle.   Subsequent to arrest eight (8) rectangular white pills inscribed G3722 believed to be Alprazolam was found in the defendants pant pocket.  There were no reported injuries.

Defendant Sambade is being charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree and Driving While Intoxicated. He will be arraigned on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at First District Court, Hempstead.
