TRAVEL ADVISORY: Long Term Lane Closure on the Ocean Parkway in the Town of Babylon

One eastbound lane of the Ocean Parkway will be closed for approximately five weeks between the Gilgo State Park 4x4 beach entrance and the Robert Moses Causeway.

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that one eastbound lane of the Ocean Parkway will be permanently closed between the Gilgo State Park 4x4 beach entrance and the Robert Moses Causeway in the Town of Babylon, Suffolk County, beginning Wednesday, November 15 for approximately five weeks to facilitate concrete pavement repairs. 

Motorists are urged to plan accordingly and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.  Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
