Expect around 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, Parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the Waterfront will experience shallow flooding. * Shoreline impacts...breaking waves will result in beach erosion and flooding with minor damage possible to dune structures during the times of high tide. * Timing...around the times of high tide tonight. Locations impacted include... Islip, Newark, Jersey City, Jamaica, Yonkers, Paterson, Elizabeth, Stamford, Flatbush, Norwalk, New Rochelle, Flushing, Passaic, Bayonne and Brentwood. Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter of a mile in this area of heavy snow. Snowfall rates will average between 1 and 2 inches an hour. Copiague, NY - October 25, 2017 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who burglarized a Copiague business in August.
 
A man destroyed a rooftop chimney to gain entry to Amvets Thrift Store, located at 1179 Sunrise Highway, at approximately 4:15 a.m. on August 9. The man entered through a rooftop chimney vent, tied a rubber hose to piping on the roof and climbed down into the store.
 
The suspect was eventually startled by the alarm. He then threw a ceramic container through the front glass door, breaking it, and fled the scene. The suspect was described as white with a thin build and light brown hair.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
