Copiague, NY - October 25, 2017 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who burglarized a Copiague business in August.
 
A man destroyed a rooftop chimney to gain entry to Amvets Thrift Store, located at 1179 Sunrise Highway, at approximately 4:15 a.m. on August 9. The man entered through a rooftop chimney vent, tied a rubber hose to piping on the roof and climbed down into the store.
 
The suspect was eventually startled by the alarm. He then threw a ceramic container through the front glass door, breaking it, and fled the scene. The suspect was described as white with a thin build and light brown hair.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
