Locust Valley, NY - October 11, 2016 - On Friday, October 14 from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club will celebrate its 50 th Anniversary Clothing Sale -- - let the shopping begin! Running from Friday, October 14 through Wednesday, October 19, the Clothing Sale is one of the Club’s biggest fundraisers, providing much needed dollars to support the Club. Over time, the Sale has earned more than $3 million. There are four important ingredients that go into the Sale each year: the generosity of donors, the hard work of volunteers, the loyalty of shoppers and the kindness of the Locust Valley community. This year is no exception.

Over the past month, our donors have collected and delivered an abundance of gently used clothing including designer, vintage and household items. Each year the quality of our donations draws buyers from all over the Tri-State region. Without this fabulous merchandise, we could not have the Sale!

Led by Eileen Duffy, a dedicated team of volunteers have worked tirelessly for weeks, often rearranging their own lives to accommodate the Sale. Motivated by their loyalty to the Club, many volunteers got to know and love the Club when their own children and grandchildren came and played there as members. The Club is fortunate to have such a great group of talented and devoted individuals.

“One of my favorite things about the Sale is seeing the repeat customers, people who come back year after year,” said Eileen Duffy. “Some even come back several times during the Sale not wanting to miss out on any of the restocked items. Everyone loves finding a treasure at bargain prices and we have plenty of those!”
