The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of an Inwood man for an Assault that occurred on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 4:02 a.m. in Inwood.
 
According to Detectives, Police responded to a residence on Church Street for reports that a man had broken into a home. Upon arrival, Police attempted to arrest Oseguera-Umanzor Walther, 41, of 66 Church Street, Inwood, who then attempted to flee by breaking a bedroom window. An Officer deployed his ECD (taser) in an attempt to apprehend the defendant who continued fleeing. Defendant Walther was found hiding, outside the residence and was arrested without further incident.
 
One Officer sustained injuries during the course of the arrest as the defendant was violent and combative while resisting arrest. The defendants action violated an active, full stay away, order of protection.
 
Defendant Walther is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree, Robbery 3rd Degree, Criminal Contempt 1st Degree, and Resisting Arrest. Defendant Walther has an active warrant out of Texas for Obstruction of Breathing, and Assault. The defendant will be arraigned on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
 
Walther was previously arrested in Nassau County and released with no bail on:
 
-July 30, 2022 and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, and Menacing 2nd Degree.
 
-August 22, 2022 and charged with Criminal Contempt 1st Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, and harassment 2nd Degree.
 
-September 19, 2022 and charged with Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree.
-September 27, 2022 and charged with Robbery 3rd Degree, and Criminal Contempt 1st Degree
