Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was found on Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore.
Highway Patrol officers responded to a 911 call reporting a man lying in the right lane of eastbound Sunrise Highway, near Exit 43.
The adult male was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Elvis Galvez Menjivar, 27, of Bay Shore, has been identified as the man who died after being found on Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore on April 17. The investigation determined Galvez Menjivar may have been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
