If you’re in the mood for traditional Spanish tapas then head on over to Villa Lobos, which opened this summer in Freeport.

The menu has a cascading list of tapas - small shareable plates - to choose from including Aceitunas Marinadas, olives in olive oil infused with fennel seed, red pepper, garlic, and orange, with ricotta and served with toasted bread ($7), Calamares Fritos, lightly fried crispy squid served with a house made aioli and lemon ($14), Chorizo Al Vino, sautéed chorizo sausage with wine, black pepper, and parsley ($13), Ensalada Mixta, mixed greens tossed with toasted pine nuts, raisins, and a sherry vinaigrette, topped with shaved manchego ($10), and many, many more.

On Yelp, Jessica V gave it five stars and loved the atmosphere.

“My fiancé and I live close by and are always looking for new places in the area -- especially with outdoor seating -- so decided to come here for dinner after seeing an ad on Instagram (and loving tapas),” she wrote. “It was a beautiful night so we decided to sit in the outdoor area which is really cute with high-top and regular tables, Edison lights, triangle canopies for some shade and great music.”

Melany, from Queens, raved about the food.

“Food was phenomenal, as well as service. Waiters and cooks are super nice,” she wrote. “Couldn't be any better. The taste of the food was definitely there and was really good. The sangria is also amazing. The plate portions are really good too.”

Location: 499 South Main Street, Freeport, (516) 608-6042.
