NCPD Announce Two Arrests Made in Connection with Levittown Assault/Homicide Incident

Benjamin Lopez of Levittown, 23, and Deangelo Gill of Uniondale, 19, are accused of causing multiple lacerations on two their victims, police report.

Levittown, NY - September 14, 2017 - Homicide Squad detectives report the arrests of Benjamin Lopez, 23, of Levittown, and Deangelo Gill, 19, of Uniondale, on Wednesday, 09/13/17, in connection with a Homicide / Assault that occurred in Levittown on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 1:50 pm.
 
According to police, Second Precinct police responded to a 911 call for an Assault that occurred at a Levittown residence. Upon arrival Second Precinct police observed a 24 year old male with multiple lacerations to both arms. Further investigation revealed that an 83 year old female was also observed with multiple lacerations to her body. 
 
The female victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Nassau Police Medic. The 24 year old male was transported in a Nassau Police ambulance to a local hospital and treated for his injuries. He is listed in serious condition.
 
The defendants Lopez and Gill are each being charged with Murder 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Thursday, 09/14/17 in First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
