NCPD Arrest Jersey Man for DWI on LIE

A man from New Jersey was arrested under Leandra's Lawn for driving while intoxicated on the LIE.

North Hills, NY - September 14, 2014 - The Nassau County Highway Patrol Bureau reports the arrest details of a DWI that occurred on September 14, 2014 at 5:45 in North Hills.
 
According to Police, defendant Carlos F. Araujo-Gomez, 44, of 305 Columbia Avenue Jersey City, New Jersey was travelling westbound on the Long Island Expressway when he was observed by Police.  The defendant was swerving, unable to maintain the traffic lane, as he operated his 2010 Mercedes SUV.  Officers were able to perform a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop at Exit 33 in North Hills.  Among the passengers in the defendants vehicle was his eight year old daughter in the center rear seat in a proper child restraint seat.  The child was released to a family member at the scene.
 
Defendant Carlos F. Araujo-Gomez is charged with DWI (Leandra’s Law), DWI, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and two traffic violations.   He will be arraigned on September 15, 2014 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
