Suffolk County, NY - Sept. 11, 2018 - Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone today directed flags on county government buildings to be flown at half-staff in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2011 terrorist attacks.
 
“In honor of those we have lost in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 seventeen years ago, I have directed the Suffolk County Department of Public Works to lower all flags on county government buildings to half-staff for the remainder of the day. Today we honor those we lost both during the attacks and those we have lost since due to 9/11-related illness and keep their loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.”
