NCPD: Bank Robbery in Bethpage

Police are investigating a bank robbery that took place in Bethpage.

Bethpage, NY - September 9, 2014 - The Robbery Squad is investigating an Attempted Bank Robbery that occurred on September 9, 2014 at 10:55 am in Bethpage.
 
According to detectives, a male black subject entered the Chase Bank, 4276 Hempstead Turnpike, approached a teller and displayed a demand note as well as verbal instructions. After his actions alerted other employees and his initial demands were not met, the subject who was described being 35-40 years old, 6’ tall, wearing a NY Yankees baseball cap, sunglasses, black baggy shirt and dark colored cargo pants, fled the bank and was last seen eastbound through the parking lot towards Randal Drive without any proceeds.
 
During the Attempted Robbery there were 5 employees and 1 customer present. No injuries were reported.
