Suffolk Police: Uber Driver Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver After Assaulted by Passengers

The men that attacked the driver were arrested for the assault; the hit-and-run drier is still at large, cops say.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that occurred in Bay Shore earlier this year.
 
An Uber driver was attacked by two passengers on Union Boulevard on May 11 at approximately 1:35 a.m. After the attack, the victim stood on the eastbound lane of Union Boulevard, approximately 25 feet east of Montgomery Avenue, when he was struck by a white SUV or van that fled the scene. The victim, a 26-year-old Brightwaters man, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of a broken pelvis, injuries to his right leg and a broken scapula.
 
The men that attacked the driver were arrested for the assault.
