According to the New York State Police, on Thursday, June 8, 2023, just before 3:00PM a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Peter Kent, 61 of North Babylon, NY, was traveling eastbound on the Southern State Parkway near exit 32 in the town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County.
Preliminary investigation revealed, while traveling eastbound the vehicle left the roadway and struck the center guide rail and then the vehicle traveled back across the lanes of traffic onto the right shoulder and struck a tree. Kent was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital and later pronounced deceased.
