State Police Troop "L" are investigating a motorcycle fatal crash that occurred on the Northern State Parkway westbound, west of exit 32 in the town of North Hempstead, Nassau County.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2018 Ducati motorcycle was traveling westbound on the Northern State Parkway at a high rate of speed when it struck the rear of a 2015 Acura which was traveling westbound. The operator of the motorcycle, Rony Lopez, age 41 of Hollis NY, was ejected and transported to Winthrop Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The operator of the Acura, Amara Mirza, age 49, and the two occupants from Old Westbury, NY were taken to Winthrop Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
