SCPD Announces Lake Grove Man Arrested for Driving with 41 License Suspensions

SCPD arrested James Tomassi of Lake Grove, 36, for driving with 41 license suspensions.

Long Island, NY - May 24, 2018 - Suffolk County Police on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 arrested a Lake Grove man for driving with more than 40 license suspensions.
 
Highway Patrol Officer Matthew White pulled over a 2003 Nissan on westbound Sunrise Highway, near Connetquot Avenue, at approximately 8:25 a.m. after he observed the vehicle was missing a front license plate. Officer White then determined the driver, James Tomassi, was driving with a license that had been suspended 41 times.
 
Tomassi, 36, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree and Operating While Registration Suspended/Revoked. His vehicle was impounded and he was arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
