South Shore, NY - May 12, 2016 - Former federal prosecutor and newly elected Senator Todd Kaminsky today released the following statement in response to the sentencing of Dean Skelos, whom he replaced this month as Senator for the 9th District:

"Today's sentencing of Dean Skelos marks the end of a troubling chapter of corruption for our state government—but it does not close the book. If we are going to change the story and improve our government, we must make swift, serious changes to our ethics and campaign finance rules. We have a few weeks left in Albany to enact real reform on behalf of New Yorkers and to begin to restore their trust so that honest government can lead to real results for our state."
