The New York state department of environmental conservation has issued an air quality health advisory for the following counties... Nassau and Suffolk In effect from 11 am to 11 PM EDT Thursday. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an air quality index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone . The air quality index, or aqi, was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the aqi value, the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated, the New York state department of health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very Young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. SCPD arrested an 11-year-old boy who made a terroristic threat.

Lake Ronkonkoma, NY - April 30, 2018 - Suffolk County Police arrested an 11-year-old boy who made a terroristic threat while on the bus heading to his Lake Ronkonkoma school on Friday, April 27, 2018.
 
Two students reported to officials from Samoset Middle School, located at 51 School St., that while on the bus ride to school this morning, an 11-year-old student stated that he had a bomb and a gun in his backpack and that he was going to do a school shooting.
 
School officials contacted Fourth Precinct police after the 11-year-old boy admitted he made the threatening statement. The student’s backpack and locker were searched and no threats were found.
 
Fourth Squad detectives charged the 11-year-old student, of Ronkonkoma, with Making a Terroristic Threat. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Family Court in Central Islip at a future date.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
