Brooklyn Man Busted with Illegal Firearm, Drugs During Inwood Traffic Stop, According to NCPD

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 9:42 pm in Inwood. 
 
According to Detectives, an Officer observed a grey 2006 Infiniti traveling northbound on Doughty Boulevard failing to signal while turning eastbound onto Bayview Avenue. The Officer activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop.
 
Subsequent to the investigation a loaded black Taurus 9mm semi-automatic handgun was recovered from inside the vehicle. Additionally, the defendant was in possession of a clear unlabeled pill bottle containing 6 Alprazolam and 4 Oxycodone pills. Raymond Colon, 29, of 427 Christopher Avenue was placed under arrest without incident. 
 
Defendant Colon is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, 2 Counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and VTL Violations. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
