Former Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano was sentenced to 12 years behind bars Thursday for accepting bribes.

Former Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano was sentenced today to 12 years behind bars for accepting bribes from Queens restaurateur Harendra Singh.

Today Central Islip Federal Judge Joan Azrack handed down the 12 year prison term along with a $20,000 fine and ordered Mangano to turn himself in on June 13.

Mangano was convicted in 2019 of accepting bribes and kickbacks, including paid vacations and a no-show job for his wife, Linda.

In exchange, Mangano helped secure $20 million in loans for Singh.

The jury also found Linda Mangano guilty and she will be sentenced later today.
