Miller Place, NY - March 25, 2015 - On March 19, Legislator Anker attended Shoreham-Wading River’s Seventh Annual Lax-Out Cancer Fundraiser kickoff at Applebee’s in Miller Place. The Shoreham-Wading River and Miller Place boys’ lacrosse teams were in attendance for “Dining to Donate” night, where 10% of the bill was donated to Lax-Out Cancer, an organization created to provide financial support for local children affected by cancer.

To complement the Applebee’s fundraiser, the 7th Annual Lax-Out Cancer Lacrosse Game Fundraiser between the boys Shoreham-Wading River Wildcats and the Miller Place Panthers will take place on April 11 at 11:00am (junior varsity) and 2:30pm (varsity), at Shoreham-Wading River High School. In addition to the lacrosse games, the day will feature food and raffles, with all proceeds from the event donated to Lax-Out Cancer.

“I was in awe at the community outreach for those in need, especially by our kids, at the Applebee’s fundraiser,” said Legislator Anker. “Thanks to the school athletic teams and their coaches, administrators and volunteers, many local children will benefit from the fundraising efforts of Lax-Out Cancer, and I encourage our community to support this worthy cause.”
