Coram Man Busted After Caught Red-Handed Attempting to Break Into Remsenburg Residence, Police Say

Louis Zangla, 36, is charged with Burglary 2nd (felony) and Criminal Possession of Burglary Tools (misdemeanor).

At approximately 2:14 PM, Southampton Town Police Department received a 911 call of a burglary in progress in Remsenburg. 
 
Patrol Units responded and spoke to the homeowner who reported arriving home and seeing a male at the bottom of the basement steps. When he was confronted as to why he was there he stated he would call his boss. He left the residence and fled in a vehicle. 
 
Southampton Town Police Detectives responded to continue the investigation. 
 
Information developed led to the identification of a suspect who was subsequently located by the Southampton Town Police Community Response Unit. 
 
The suspect was transported to Southampton Town Police Headquarters where the Detective Division subsequently charged Louis Zangla, age 36 of Coram, New York, with Burglary 2nd (felony) and Criminal Possession of Burglary Tools (misdemeanor). He was processed and held overnight for arraignment in Southampton Town Justice Court.
