65-Year-Old Man Killed in Bohemia Motor Vehicle Crash

Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Bohemia last night.

Bohemia, NY - March 4, 2017 - Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Bohemia last night.

A 65-year-old man was walking southbound on Johnson Avenue near Frederick Street at 6:33 p.m. when he was struck by a 2010 Chevrolet Impala that was traveling southbound on Johnson Avenue.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. William Oden, 26 of Islip, the driver of the Chevrolet, was not injured. The victim’s identification is being withheld pending notification of kin.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
