Suffolk County SPCA charged an Amityville man with misdemeanor animal cruelty under the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law on February 11, 2016.

Amityville, NY - February 12th, 2016 - Suffolk County SPCA charged an Amityville man with misdemeanor animal cruelty under the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law on February 11, 2016.  

Two individuals witnessed  Shaun Morgan (pictured below), 37, of  Coolidge Ave., Amityville, cruelly beat his dog by picking it up over his head and forcibly throwing the dog on the ground twice. The dog was surrendered to the witnesses and transported to a Veterinary Clinic for evaluation.

Morgan will appear in First District Court in Central Islip on April 6, 2016.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
