The famous steakhouse franchise with more than 150 locations worldwide opened a new restaurant recently in the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House is now serving from its new 6,917-square-foot restaurant, which according to a statement features two main dining rooms, a bar with high tops for dining, and two private dining rooms for celebrations and business meetings.
As part of the pre-opening celebration, Ruth’s Chris hosted a special dinner with community leaders, business owners, Ruth’s Chris executives, members of the media, and local influencers while raising money for the restaurant’s local charity partner and food bank for Long Island – Island Harvest.

The restaurant serves up their steaks sizzling on a 500-degree plate, which is how Ruth’s Chris founder Ruth Fertel wanted it.
While steak is the name of the game, the menu also features fresh seafood, scratch-made side dishes and desserts, craft cocktails and wine.
Founded by Ruth Fertel more than 55 years ago in New Orleans, Louisiana, Ruth’s Chris Steak House went from one neighborhood eatery to a large collection of upscale steakhouses across the globe.

On Yelp, the reviews for this location have been very mixed, with one-star and five-star reviews.
Stuart R, from Hauppauge, gave it three stars.
“Let's just say that this is Ruth's Chris ‘Lite,’” he wrote.
Kelvin D, from Yonkers, only gave it one star.
“I’m a regular at Ruth's Chris jersey branch so I was excited to finally eat at their restaurant again in Long Island,” he wrote. “Let's just say I was very disappointed.”
Andrew Z, from Mount Sinai, awarded Ruth’s Chris Steak House five stars saying that the food was amazing.
“All in all, good met and even surpassed expectations...,” he wrote. “We surely will be back.”
