Mastic Beach, NY - March 3, 2016 - Jasmine Setelius, a second-grade student in Mrs. Nadine Lotierzo’s class at William Floyd Elementary School, recently spearheaded a Valentine’s Day toy drive to help bring enjoyment to children at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.

Working with school social worker Jeanne Stern, Principal Keith Fasciana and Mrs. Lotierzo, Jasmine started a school wide toy drive and sent out a note to her schoolmates said, “Two years ago, I was very sick and spent time at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. I really missed being at home and playing with my toys. This Valentine’s Day, let’s bring some extra comfort, kindness and love to the kids there now.”

Thanks to the generosity of the families of the William Floyd School community, Jasmine collected 217 toys.
