Suffolk County SPCA Charges Islip Man with Trapping and Abandoning Cat

Detectives from the Suffolk County SPCA charged an Islip man that trapped a male black cat from near his trailer park home on Main Street in Islip on or about February 9, 2024.
 
Michael Vitucci, Jr.,67, transported the cat and released it at a Shop Rite Supermarket located at 1905 Sunrise Highway in Bayshore.
 
On Friday, February 16, 2024, Vitucci Jr. was charged by SPCA detectives with abandonment which is a misdemeanor.
 
Vitucci, Jr. is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip, on March 7, 2024.
 
SCSPCA Detectives are canvassing the area looking for another black cat that is also missing from 150 Main Street, Islip, possibly in connection with this case. The cat owner continues to search for his beloved cat named Clyde.
