The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) has teased some big news on Facebook, a Valentine's Day gift for fans of the Piano Man.

“Ernie Canadeo, LIMEHOF Chairman and Kevin O’Callaghan, Creative Director, discussed plans for a major Billy Joel exhibit with Billy before his show at MSG last night. Stay tuned for more exciting partnerships with Billy and the Hall of Fame!”

Seems like the deal was discussed before Joel's Valentine's Day show at Madison Square Garden. The February show marked Joel’s 88th monthly and 134th lifetime show at The Garden.

No details are available just yet on the exhibit, but one of Long Island’s favorite sons inspired lots of comments, most of which were some variation of “can’t wait.”

One person made an interesting suggestion saying “how about an immersive Billy experience.”

Stay tuned for more details on the big Billy Joel exhibit.

Last year, LIMEHOF found a permanent spot in the Ward Melville Heritage Organization’s cultural center in Stony Brook Village, setting it up for big events like this.

Founded in 2004, the LIMEHOF is dedicated to the idea that Long Island’s musical heritage is an important resource to be celebrated and preserved for future generations. The Hall of Fame honors artists from Brooklyn, Queens and Nassau and Suffolk counties who’ve made significant contributions to music. Inductees include Billy Joel, Louis Armstrong, LL Cool J, George M. Cohan, Lou Reed, the Ramones and Harry Chapin.
