Abrahams to partner with Nassau County and the Assessment Review Commission.
Nassau County, NY - February 6, 2018 - Anyone who pays property taxes in Nassau County can challenge an assessment. Legislator Kevan Abrahams partners with Nassau County and the Assessment Review Commission every year to help Nassau County residents grieve their assessment. There is no cost to attend this workshop or to challenge an assessment.
Nassau County Assessment Review Commission allows residents the opportunity to speak one-on-one with a representative to assist with their application. Challenging your property taxes can also decrease your tax assessment.
This year the deadline to grieve taxes is Thursday, March 1st, which is quickly approaching. Residents are encouraged to attend one of these workshops to learn how to file an appeal on your tax assessment with the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission.
Legislator Kevan Abrahams says that “Property Assessment in Nassau County has been unfair, and my legislative district pays a disproportionate amount of property taxes. To help lessen the burden, I encourage you to come out and learn how to challenge your own property taxes for free”.
