Suffolk County Police Vehicular Crime Unit detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Wyandanch last night.

Wyandanch, NY - January 13, 2015 - Suffolk County Police Vehicular Crime Unit detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Wyandanch last night.

Raina Campbell was walking westbound on East Booker Avenue when she was stuck by a westbound vehicle that fled the scene at 6:56 p.m. Campbell, 48, of Wyandanch, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where she was pronounced dead.

The vehicle fled toward Straight Path and may have front end damage.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash or has any information about the incident to contact the Vehicular Crime Unit at 631-852-6555 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
