The owners of McQuade’s Neighborhood Grill in Lynbrook announced on Monday that they sold their restaurant. Operations will be picked up by James Laurelli of Ugly Phil's Brewing company, according to an online post by former owner Jim McQuade.

“After great consideration, we made the decision to sell our establishment,” McQuade wrote on Facebook. A similar message appears on the restaurant’s website.

“The decision to sell after 15 years of serving you, getting to know you and making you part of our McQuade's family was not done lightly,” the post went on to say. “Our family business has been going steadily for many years and has been a wonderful experience for us. Lynbrook and the surrounding communities will always hold a special place in our hearts. We would like to thank our staff, past and present, for being such an integral part of our business and for helping us to provide so many wonderful experiences to our countless guests over the years.”

McQuades had been known by patrons as a place to watch Sunday football and grab some good grub, including their Duck Wontons and Braised Short Rib, two of the many offerings that were praised by customers in online reviews.

“We want to say thank you to everyone who has dined with us, whether you've been dining with us for years or are a new friend,” McQuade said in the post. “We have been a part of your most treasured memories: birthday celebrations, graduation dinners, first dates, marriage proposals, engagement parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, intimate wedding receptions, baby showers and celebrations of life, and have built beautiful memories together that will last us a lifetime.”

In the post, McQuade said that business was turned over to James Laurelli of Ugly Phil's Brewing company.

“So stay tuned for a new concept in 2023,” he said.
