Westbury Woman Drove Drunk with Three Minors in Vehicle, Cops Say

Westbury, NY - December 29, 2017 - The Third Precinct reports the arrest of a Westbury woman for DWI (Leandra’s Law) the occurred in Westbury on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 1:10 a.m.
 
According to police, Telma Galdamez, 32, while operating a 2014 black Mercedes Benz, failed to maintain a lane while traveling eastbound on Old Country Rd. and Merrick Ave. After initiating a traffic stop, the officer observed the defendant to be intoxicated. Police further discovered three minors in the back seat, ages 15, 13 and 10 years old. The defendant was placed under arrest without incident. All three of the minors were released to a family member.
 
Defendant Galdamez is being charged with three counts of Aggravated Driving While Intox (Child 15), three counts of Endangering Welfare of Child, DWI, DWI (BAC+.08 Misd), and multiple VTL violations. The defendant will be arraigned on Friday, December 29, 2017 at First District Court, Hempstead.
