Annual Chanukah Experience

Sunday, December 18 starting at 3:15 p.m.

Chabad Center for Jewish Life 

2174 Hewlett Ave. Suite 101, Merrick

Enjoy a car parade, music, dancing, latkes, donuts, and the grand lighting of 12-foot menorah.

3:15 p.m. - Great Menorah Car Parade featuring a fire truck and a vintage car with rooftop menorahs. Meet Judah the Maccabee and Dreidelman with special gifts on the way. Starts at the Chabad Center for Jewish Life and finishes at the Merrick LIRR station. Park your car at the Chabad and join the walking parade.

3:30 p.m. Grand Menorah Lighting of the 12-foot menorah plus dignitary greetings and a Chanukah Celebration with music and dancing.

 

3:45 p.m. A special Chanukah Show starring students from Alan & Tatyana Forman JELC Preschool and Chabad Hebrew School. Enjoy hot latkes and doughnuts.

Manhasset Chanukah Festival

Mary Jane Davies Green, Plandome Road, Manhasset

 

Chabad of Manhasset hosts the Manhasset Chanukah Festival at Mary J. Davies Green. This community-wide holiday event features ice menorah sculpting, a gelt drop, a magician, face painting, and more. Open to all residents, family, and friends.


 

Chanukah on Main Street

Sunday, December 18, 4:30 - 8 p.m

Brightwaters Canal, Brightwaters

 

Chabad of Islip presents Chanukah on Main Street. The community is invited to this free event featuring a giant ice menorah sculpting and lighting, the Great Big Gelt Drop, a live DJ, hot latkes, doughnuts, hot cocoa, and crafts for the kids. Family Hanukkah Celebration at Suffolk YJCC

Sunday, December 18, 1:30 - 3 p.m.

Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center

74 Hauppauge Road, Commack



Celebrate the holiday with a Chanukah play featuring Stage 74 and “Just One Wheel,” doughnuts, gelt, dreidel spinning, and more. Children will have the opportunity to ride a unicycle after the show. Event is free and open to all, but attendees are asked to please bring an unwrapped toy to be donated for children in need.
