The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Serious Vehicular Accident that occurred at 9:33 pm on Friday, November 3, 2023 in Rockville Centre.
According to detectives, officers responded to assist a disabled motorist on Peninsula Boulevard, south of Eagle Avenue. While officers were blocking traffic in the right lane with their emergency lights activated, a female operator, 47, of a 2021 Nissan Sentra, struck the rear of the police vehicle.
As a result of the collision, two officers suffered injuries and were transported to the hospital. The female operator was also transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
