TEA LEAF READING

A BRIEF HISTORY

The unique art of Tea Leaf Reading is estimated to date back as far as 3000bc.
It originated in China and traveled to India, Sri Lanka and then found its way to the Roman Gypsies. From there, the skilled craft was brought to us.
Tea Leaf Readings then, was known to be practiced by peasant women in Europe.
At that time, Tea was primarily used for medicinal purposes by someone suffering from an illness.
First, he or she would drink the Tea brewed from loose tea leaves; afterwards, the Tea leaves would be consulted and evaluated. According to the shape and placement of the leaves left in the cup, this would then determine the cause of the ailment. Many people found that their suffering would subside or completely disappear shortly after. Others believe that the Tea itself had healing properties.
Whether or not one subscribes to this ancient belief, the act of having a Tea Leaf Reading can be fun, adventurous and maybe even rewarding.
