Four Legged Friends is a weekly column by Bariann Browne, lifelong Long Island resident and communications coordinator for North Shore Animal League America. Bariann’s weekly posts highlight the League’s amazing animals, just a small example of the thousands of loving, loyal pets waiting for forever homes at your local animal shelter.
Daisy is an 11 year-old female German Shepherd mix. This gorgeous dog is friendly, loves belly rubs, and will do best in a home with children over 8. Daisy would like to meet any potential canine companions at our adoption center first. Daisy’s adoption number is R100191. If you are interested in adopting Daisy, please contact via email
Louie is a sweet-tempered, 4 year-old Hound/Great Dane mix. This handsome pup is very playful and has a fondness for belly rubs. An active and curious dog, Louie would do well in a home with an experienced pet owner and kids over 16. Although he does get along well with other canines, it would be best to schedule a play date for them to meet first. Louie's adoption number is LG222. If you are interested in adopting Louie, please contact via email
10 month-old Jade has a permanent milk mustache! This sweetheart is a gorgeous girl and very photogenic. She loves cuddling and likes to relax on the couch or watch the excitement outdoors and lounge that day away! Jade cannot wait for you to come in and meet her! Jade's adoption number is H206593.
4 year-old female Riley is a real sweetheart! She is playful, friendly and very vocal with new friends that she makes. While a little aloof in new situations, Riley is quick to adjust and return back to her usual talkative self. Having conversations with her can be quite interesting, although she usually only asks for fish. Riley’s adoption number is D48480. If you are interested in adopting Riley, please contact via email.
