Get ready for a weekend complete with fairs, carnivals and festivals on Long Island! There are events with a maritime theme, harvest and seafood theme, and even a garlic theme. Other hot spots included cover music entertainment and comedy entertainment. Check out the details below!

FRIDAY – SEPTEMBER 20, 2013

Who: 24th Annual Greenport Maritime Festival At Greenport Village
Info: Enjoy this festival that runs through the weekend! It includes the arrival of the Tall Ships and the chance to tour marvelous vessels. There’s also a parade, family-friendly pirate show and crafts and shopping to enjoy.
Cost: Free Event

Who: The Pretty Reckless – Going To Hell Tour At The Paramount
Info: Enjoy this alternative rock band from New York with lead singer Taylor Momsen. The band also includes Ben Phillips as lead guitar and backing vocalist, Mark Damon for bass and Jamie Perkins for drums.
Cost: $15 to $45

Who: Annual Veterans BBQ At Eisenhower Park
Info: The event is hosted by Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano. Come out to enjoy a BBQ lunch and live band entertainment. Nassau County agencies will also be present to offer assistance and information to veterans and their families.

SATURDAY – SEPTEMBER 21, 2013

Who: Long Island Fair At Old Bethpage Village Restoration
Info: Head over to the Long Island Fair! It’s the only county fair for Queens, Nassau and Suffolk Counties and it’s the official New York State fair for those counties. There are farm animals, brass band concerts, traditional music, wagon rides, pony rides, flowers, crafts and much more. The fair runs until Sept. 22 and again on Sept. 27-29.

Who: For The Kids Of East Islip Annual Carnival At Timber Point Elementary School
Info: Come out to support the children of East Islip! There are rides, international food, raffles, games and more! The carnival continues through this weekend.

Who: Central Islip Fire Department Comedy Show And Dinner
Info: Enjoy a night of comedy at a sit down dinner. There are also free raffle door prizes. Comedians will include Isaacs & Baker, Hiram Kasten, Fran Capo and there is a special guest appearance with Chilly Most.

Who: Annual Craft & Gift Show At Christopher Morley Park
Info: Come by for this family event with opportunities to interact with emerging and established artisans offering high quality crafts, gifts and other affordable goods.

Who: Annual Long Island Garlic Festival
Info: It’s an all-day celebration of the wonders of “Garliciana.” The festival features vendors offering a variety of garlic inspired foods, crafts, music and organic garlic to eat and plant. There’s also a garlic eating contest for the Garlic Iron Chef.
