LLoyd Staffing to Launch "Operation Deployment to Employment" for Gulf War Era II Veterans

Melville, NY - Long Island based company LLoyd Staffing is launching a new program geared towards returning soldiers of the Gulf War Era II as part of their efforts to give back to the community. Titled "Operation Deployment to Employment," LLoyd Staffing will be offering a free two-hour workshop covering Resume Preparation, Interviewing Skills and general advice for transitioning from a military to a civilian career.

Nationwide, more than 20 percent of young veterans are unemployed. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports increasing unemployment rates among Gulf War-era II veterans than for the general population. Their unemployment rate averaged 11.5 percent last year, higher than the overall 9% rate for the U.S population. This rate reveals that although these veterans, especially the 18 to 24 year olds, possess a wide range of technical and leadership skills during their time in the military, they often find the transition to civilian workforce difficult.

In response, LLoyd Staffing will launch an informative learning session and Q&A; led by Certified Professional Recruiters to help returning soldiers understand today's job market. The same workshop will run every Wednesday for the month of August beginning August 10th. The workshop will be free of charge and is limited to the first 25 participants. It will be held from 10 am to 12 noon at LLoyd HQ located at 445 Broadhollow Road, Suite 119, Melville. Interested soldiers need only attend one session and may e-mail LISoldiers@LLoydstaffing.com to register for this event.
