Bethpage, NY USA - Long Island Elite (LIE), an organization dedicated to promoting the growth and development of Long Island's young business executives, raised much needed funds for several Long Island not-for-profit organizations at its eighth annual 'Oz-Themed' Charity Masquerade Ball on June 9, 2011 at the breathtaking Oheka Castle in Cold Spring Hills, NY.

The imaginative event featured a yellow brick road connecting munchkin land, a poppy field, the wicked witch of the west's castle, and Emerald City. Actors from Chez'-zam theatrical group portrayed Oz characters such as Dorothy, The Tin Man, The Scarecrow, The Cowardly Lion, The Wicked Witch of the West, Glinda The Good Witch and The Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz. Peanutbutter, Inc. airbrushed illustrious designs on guests to enhance the theme.

Most importantly, LIE achieved its goal of raising awareness and support for the following nonprofit organizations:

Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck
Chillin' With Adam
Friends of Karen
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Long Island
New Ground
Pet Peeves
Honorees of the evening were David Gaynes, Managing Director of Barclays Capital, who was recognized as Mentor of the Year; Eric Derasse, Jason Eitel and Stephen Madaffari, all of whom Principals at HTSny Partners and received the Contemporary Award; and Seviroli Foods, which earned Company of the Year. Additionally, Karen Signoracci-Suero, non-profit and fundraising consultant, was selected by her LIE peers as "LIE Member of the Year."

LIE Founder and President Dawn Strain said expressed great gratitude for everyone who attended and supported the event. "Our mission is to take a leadership role and raise awareness for non-profit organizations and their causes," explained Strain. "Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, LIE members and giving individuals, these Long Island charities will receive the recognition and funds they so deserve."
