Registration is now open for Camp Erin NYC, a free weekend-long bereavement camp, August 25-27, for children and teens ages 7-17 who've lost a loved one. Run by the non-profit organization COPE, the camp combines grief education and emotional support with fun, traditional camp activities. Camp Erin NYC takes place about 2.5 hours from New York City on beautiful campgrounds in Pennsylvania.

Led by bereavement professionals and caring volunteers, campers are provided a safe environment to explore their grief, learn essential coping skills, and make friends with peers who are also grieving.

Camp Erin NYC director Ann Fuchs said, “The beauty of Camp Erin is that our campers arrive as strangers and leave as friends creating a new circle of people to share thoughts, feelings, and experiences with.”

There is also a concurrent parent camp for caretakers of the children who attend Camp Erin NYC for a nominal fee.

If you know a child who would benefit from this experience or would like more information, visit the COPE website for details and a camp application.
