The Long Island Rough Riders, members of professional soccer's USL 2nd Division, will host a special "Fan Appreciation Night" for families, kids, and fans of all ages April 8th at 7:00 p.m. at the Rough Riders Indoor Training Center at the Mitchel Field Athletic Complex in Uniondale, New York.

The festivities will include giveaways and opportunities for kids to meet, interact and take photos with the Rough Rider pro players. The Rough Riders will introduce their new coaching staff and the 2006 Rough Riders to the soccer community.

"Soccer is the world's most popular sport and Long Island is home to over 100,000 youth soccer players." said Long Island Rough Riders President, Peter Zaratin. "In addition to our professional team, the Rough Riders have the most extensive elite youth training program in North America. Our organization is greatly anticipating our season opener against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on April 22, and we expect to have a highly competitive season."

"Fan Appreciation Night is an excellent opportunity for the soccer community to get to know the Rough Riders and organization," said new Head Coach Flavio Ferri. "We are assembling a younger and more dynamic team. We have been practicing hard and we are looking forward to this season."

ROUGH RIDERS ADIDAS SOCCER BALL NIGHT:

The Long Island Rough Riders, members of professional soccer's USL 2nd Division, will open their 2006 season at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale on April 22nd when they take on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
