14-Year-Old Arrested with Unloaded Firearm at Rockville Centre High School

A 14-year-old was arrested for possessing an unloaded, unregistered firearm in a Rockville Centre high school, with no injuries reported.

The First Squad reports the arrest of a male juvenile for an incident that occurred on Friday, February 2, 2023 at 2:40pm in Rockville Centre.
 
According to Detectives, Officers responded to South Side High School located at 140  Shepard Street for the report of a student in possession of a weapon inside their backpack.
 
Upon arrival, police recovered an unregistered and unloaded firearm, with no magazine and no ammunition. The juvenile, 14, was placed under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported.  
 
The juvenile is charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Firearm on School Grounds and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Family Court on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
