Time sure flies! It’s hard to believe that it’s already February! Although February is the shortest month of the year, it doesn’t mean it isn’t packed with plenty of fun-filled things to do.

Not only has time already flew by but love is in the air - from love for the game of football to the love we have for one another. Sports fans will be coming together to celebrate the end of the football season with Super Bowl Sunday, lovebirds across Long Island will be expressing how much they care for and love one another on Valentine’s Day with the help of Cupid and others may be just looking for some simple ways to pass the time.

February is also Black Month History Month where locals remember the important people and events during the time of the African Diaspora. We also can’t forget about Groundhog Day where Mr. Groundhog will let us know whether Spring will come early or we still have another couple of weeks left of winter. While some folks are looking forward to the warmer weather, there’s still loads of super sweet activities to keep you going!

Super Bowl
The Super Bowl XLVIII is back once again as sports fan crowd around their big screen TVs to watch the final game on Sunday, February 2nd. Groundhog Day
This year, Super Bowl Sunday and Groundhog Day both fall on the same date. While most people will have their eyes glued to their TV screens, we can’t forget about the tradition ceremony of the groundhog emerging from his burrow on Groundhog Day to let us if winter will be ending soon. If it’s a cloudy day then Spring will come early but if it’s a sunny day, the Groundhog will see his shadow and go back into his burrow which means this winter weather will continue for another six weeks.

Black History Month

Hockey
Hockey season continues with the New York Islanders playing against new opponents. Here are some games that will be taking place at the Nassau Coliseum located at 1255 Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale. Winter Concert Series
