Mount Sinai, NY - January 5, 2014 - Suffolk County Legislator Kara Hahn will be partnering with the New York Blood Center to save lives by hosting a blood drive during the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service on Monday, January 19, 2015.  The drive will be held from 1:00PM to 7:00PM at the Loyal Order of the Moose #1379 Lodge in Mount Sinai, centrally located for donors from the Belle Terre, Mount Sinai, Port Jefferson Port Jefferson Station and Terryville communities.  As a token of appreciation, the Blood Center will mail two New York Mets tickets to each donor for his/her commitment to saving lives.

Walk-ins are welcomed, but appointments are appreciated so call (631) 854-1650 to schedule a convenient donation time, today!  Please remember to bring valid identification, eat and be well hydrated before making your donation.  Due to New York Blood Center guidelines, donors must weigh over 110 pounds, be between the ages of 16 and 75 and not have had a tattoo in the past 12 months.

Blood supplies just after the holiday weekend, oftentimes, fall to critical levels with donors taking vacations and colleges and schools on recesses. Help prevent a shortage this winter; remember you can save the lives of three of your neighbors with one donation, so signup today.
