Long Island Pet Owners Celebrate Halloween with Suffolk County's Fourth Annual Barkfest

Stony Brook, NY - October 25, 2014 - On Saturday, October 25, 2014, Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine will join forces with SAVE-A-PET, Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption Center, Suffolk County SPCA, the Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook and 500 of the best dressed dogs, to present Long Island’s largest pet costume contest and parade, the Fourth Annual Suffolk Barkfest. For this Halloween-spirited celebration beginning at 12:00 p.m., guests are to bring their dogs and other pets dressed in costumes for a chance to win prizes.  The event will be open to the public with free admission, rain or shine.
 
Pet owners will enjoy music from a live DJ, while browsing pet-related exhibitors and animal rescue organizations. All pets must be on leashes or in carriers, and current with vaccinations.
