Uniondale, NY - October 18, 2016 - Uniondale School District’s Smith Street Elementary recently hosted a meet-and-greet with author Matthew Reinhart. Reinhart read aloud from his new book, “Lego Pop-Up,” and encouraged students to explore their creativity and become authors themselves. Following the presentation, students had their copies of “Lego Pop-Up” autographed.
Matthew Reinhart is a bestselling pop-up artist, illustrator and paper engineer who seeks to use equal amounts of facts, fun, and adventure in each of his books to make them "fun-formative" for children and their families. “Lego Pop-Up” is a book about the history of Lego toys and mini-figurines packed with fun features and informative lessons for children of all ages.
The purpose of this event was to help students connect on a personal level with literature by exposing them to the authors behind their favorite books.
