Nassau County Police Dept: Fraudster Who Stole Thousands at Westbury Bank Nabbed

Westbury, NY - October 15th, 2013 - The Crimes Against Property Squad reports the Arrest of a Queens Village man that occurred in Westbury on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 9:20 A.M.

According to detectives, on Saturday, September 29, 2012 defendant Cory Cintron, age 23 of 109-16 223rd Street entered the Chase Bank at 35 Jericho Turnpike in Jericho and posed as an existing bank customer. Using a fraudulent Pennsylvania driver’s license he obtained an ATM card and then withdrew $25,000.00 from the customers account. Later that same day Cintron went to the Chase branch at 2111 Northern Boulevard in Manhasset and filled out a withdrawal slip in the amount of $9,000.00 for the same account. The bank teller became suspicious and when she questioned the defendant he left the bank with no funds.

After being identified through surveillance video and fingerprint evidence Cintron surrendered to Crimes Against Property Squad detectives in Westbury.

The defendant was charged with two counts of Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Identity Theft 1st Degree. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday, October 16, 2013.
